Maurice Johnson is a native of Brooksville, MS. Upon completing high school, Maurice joined the United States Army. During his military career, he was station in Stuttgart, Germany and Ft, Myers, VA. After his military career, he began his law enforcement career with the Starkville Police Department in 1994. During his first stint with Starkville Police, Maurice served as a patrolman and narcotics investigator. In 2000, Maurice joined Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics as an Agent in the Tupelo district. In 2002, he returned to Starkville Police Department where he served as a patrolman, narcotics supervisor and Lieutenant of Criminal Investigations.
During his military career and time with the Starkville Police Department, Maurice attended and studied at the University of Maryland and Hamilton University. Maurice is a certified investigator through the Certified Investigator Program for the State of Mississippi.
In 2009, Maurice was employed as criminal investigator with the DA’s office of the 16th Judicial District, assigned to the counties of Lowndes and Noxubee.
Maurice enjoys spending time with family and friends when not serving the citizens of this community.
