Emmitt Johnson Jr., hailing from Crawford, MS, is a dedicated professional with a rich educational background and a passion for serving his community. Graduating from West Lowndes High School, Emmitt embarked on an academic journey, earning his Bachelor of Arts in Sociology with a minor in Criminal Justice in 2011, followed by a Master's in Public Policy & Administration in 2021.

 

His commitment to public service led him to begin his law enforcement career with the Brooksville Police Department in 2011, where he honed his skills before transitioning to the Mississippi State University Police Department (MSUPD). At MSUPD, Emmitt showcased his versatility and leadership, serving in various roles including Patrolman, Shift Supervisor, Investigations/Evidence Custodian, and Public Relations Coordinator from 2011 to 2022.

 

In 2022, Emmitt seized the opportunity to expand his career horizons, joining both the West Point Police Department and the Mississippi Department of Corrections. His dedication to law enforcement continued to flourish, culminating in his role as a Criminal Investigator with the District Attorney's Office of the 16th Judicial District in 2023, where he was entrusted with serving the communities of Oktibbeha and Clay counties.

 

Outside of his professional endeavors, Emmitt finds solace and joy in the company of his loved ones, relishing moments spent with family and friends. He indulges in various hobbies, including watching movies, immersing himself in great music, and engaging in the world of video gaming. Emmitt's commitment to both his personal interests and his professional responsibilities reflects his well-rounded nature and dedication to living a fulfilling life while making meaningful contributions to society.
